A Downpour That Doesn’t Soak the Whole Map
Rockstar detailed a major evolution in weather in Edge. Rather than simply alternating between blue skies and rain, GTA 6 will have cloud formations change according to the wind, humidity, fog, time of day and season. One area can stay sunny while a storm builds farther away. This will let players gradually approach a storm instead of seeing the weather change everywhere at once.
Rain Leaves Its Mark
Roads become wet, building facades keep dripping after a downpour, and surfaces don’t all dry at the same rate. The wind affects trees, waves and how boats behave. In some sheltered areas, the water will be calmer; elsewhere, boats may be tossed around. Aircraft aren’t forgotten: flying through bad weather can disrupt their flight and cause minor damage if exposure continues for long.
A City to Explore Differently
Edge’s preview also mentions usable buses and trains. These are more than minor details: a proper transport route lets players rediscover neighborhoods without always driving. Rockstar wants players to travel through a territory with its own routines, whether they take a vehicle, walk or simply watch a street scene.
A Promise to Evaluate Over Time
The frequency of storms, the extent of the transport networks and the regularity of schedules have not yet been publicly documented. It remains to be seen how these systems combine during missions and how much passersby adapt their behavior to the weather. These elements will be verified in-game rather than presented as unlimited features.
